Vicki's Pet Services Policies
VPS is a free environment for your pup and because of this we have very strict rules that our clients must follow to ensure the safety of the pups and themselves.
You must always schedule an appointment when coming to VPS.  This applies to drop offs, pick ups, and interviews.  VPS is a free environment for your pet – because of this we require appointments for the safety of our clients and their pets.
  • This is a licensed boarding facility but it is still our home – we ask that you be respectful of that and DO NOT ENTER ANY fences, gates, or doors without a VPS representative present.
  • VPS provides blankets, beds, dishes, crates, pillows, etc. but if you wish to bring your own, please label all items with your pets name.
  • Payment to VPS can be made by cash or check and is due on the 1st day of boarding.  We do not accept credit cards.
  • If your pet becomes ill just prior to boarding please inform VPS immediately.  In some cases you may be asked to take your pet to your vet where he/she can be properly monitored with no risk of getting others sick.  VPS reserves the right to refuse your pet if we feel it is showing signs of being ill.
All pups visiting VPS must provide a copy of a current vet record showing they are healthy and up to date on the following vaccines – Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella.  An effective flea and tick regimen is also required.
VPS sincerely appreciates your business and cooperation.

Q,  What vaccinations are required for my pet?
A.   It is required that dogs that are joining the playgroup / boarding be up to date with DHLPP / Rabies / Bordetella vaccine needs to be done 10 days or more before boarding .  It is also required that they are on a flea control regimen ( Advantage/Frontline).

Q.  Where will my dog sleep?
A,  Your pet will have a 4x10 room for feeding and sleeping. The rest of the time they will be in a free environment, so your pet will need to be will socialized. Of course, we are happy to enforce any "house rules" you have for your pets (keeping them off the furniture, etc.)

Q.  Are you able to administer medication?
A.  Yes. All oral medication, injectable medication and ointments must be labeled with the instructions from your Vet.

Q.  Do I need to bathe my dog before boarding?
A.  We require that all pets be bathed, as well as flea and tick free.

Q.  Will my dog be crated  / kenneled?
A.  Dogs are ONLY crated/kenneled if it is supplied by the owner and requested.  If you have a puppy that is being crate trained you will need to supply the crate.  We will, as always, follow your rules regarding your pet's care!

Q.  Can I bring them their favorite toys and bed?
A.  Yes, of course. They are allowed to have their special toys, treats and bed but always make sure to send in their food, because sudden changes in their diet may cause stomach upset.  We do have plenty of toys on-site for them to play with during their stay.

Q.  Can I come and meet with you prior to boarding?
A.  Yes! We always recommend that new clients come in with their pets for an evaluation prior to their stay with us.

Q.  Does my dog go for walks? Dog parks?
A.  We have 5 acres of fenced-in play area for your pet.  Walking is also provided throughout the day and all dogs are required to be leashed during their walks.

Q.  Are you going to follow my feeding schedule?
A.  Yes, We always make sure to follow your instructions when it comes to feeding habits, even if the schedule of other dogs in our home do not coincide with your dog's schedule.

Q.  My dog is a "special needs pet" , will you consider taking him in?
A.  Pets with special needs are always welcome, however it is very important to fill out our service agreement form and always make sure to be very clear about their particular needs.

Q.  Are you able to perform in case of an emergency?
A.  Yes, we have years of experience caring for dogs, if medical attention is needed we will take your pet either to his vet or to the veterinary office located 5 minutes from our location depending on the seriousness of the situation.

Q.  Can I call in to find out how my dog is doing?
A.  Yes you may call us any time between the hours of 8am and 8pm to check on your pet.  We encourage pet owners to call as often as they feel necessary. We also keep in touch with clients by text messages.

Q.  My pet is not spayed/neutered will you accept him as your boarder?
A.  Yes.  We have the ability to accommodate this situation.  It is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  We recommend a meeting prior to boarding arrangements; during that meeting we will observe the dogs behavior:
-is the dog urinating inside the home?
-is the dog showing aggression towards the other dogs?
-is the dog extremely hyper or restless?
We try to accommodate everyone, but a dog that shows signs of a lack of bladder control, aggression and other negative behaviors will not be allowed to stay.
